You find us in reflective mood after an unintended, extended hiatus but somehow we are still capable of cobbling together 40 pages of gubbins for the competitively priced sum of two quid. There is all the usual variety you’d expect from all the usual contributors, I don’t see any point in adding any more spoilers than that on this occasion, just buy it and find out what’s inside.
We are still offering subscriptions for the 2026/27 season, whereby you get 4 issues posted to your door (£12) or electronically in your inbox (£5), just click the link to do that.
We are currently a little bit down on last year’s subs: 97 versus 111 print subs and 33 vs 40 digital, although we have got a handful of new customers in both formats. We can live with an 86% retention rate, to be honest, it is fantastic just how loyal our subscribers are, but if you do still fancy joining that elite club, then you’d be very welcome.
Issue 97 is now also on sale as a stand alone issue, click here to buy.
And of course it is filtering through into the shops. As I write, there are 40 copies in Waterstones and 15 behind the bar in the Anvil. I’ll drop off to the other stockists later in the week, once I’ve overcome this savage bout of manful and feel like a pint again. And you think this is a professional operation??
Of course, you can always buy it off us the traditional way, that is, at an actual football match. But thanks to the endless pissing about with our fixtures this year, you will have to wait until Saturday 17th October for such an occasion, by which point if you’re anything like me, you will have completely forgotten about it again. So we’ll remind you closer to the time, if we can remember to turn up ourselves.
